Ned is a native of Virginia, received his BEE from the University of Virginia and his MBA from the University of Dallas. Early in his career, he was employed by Sperry Marine Systems, Stanford University, and Texas Instruments. In 1972, he joined Datran, one of the first challengers to AT&T’s telecommunications monopoly. He was then a founder and officer of Digital Switch Corp. and CIT-Alcatel”s Telecommunications Switching Systems.

Ned has published and lectured extensively in Europe and the U.S. in the fields of microwaves, nuclear, and telecom engineering. He has provided expert testimony before Congress, regulatory commissions, and the federal courts on engineering, antitrust, and privacy issues. Before his retirement in 1997, he was an Engineering VP at Satellite Business Systems and MCI Telecommunications. Ned and his wife Marilyn are parents of eleven children and 42 grandchildren. They have been active in pro-life and family apostolates and now reside near Winchester, Virginia.
