Scott was born and raised in Waynesboro, Virginia and lives in Lexington, Virginia.
He is a Distinguished Military Graduate from the Virginia Military Institute and has a Masters Degree from Liberty University.
Scott served nine years in the U.S. Army where he commanded the 529th Military Police Company, was an instructor and subject matter expert on Leadership, and finished his service at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point.
He started his business, Sayre Enterprises, in his garage and now has over 100 employees and is one of the largest employers of adults with disabilities in Rockbridge County. He has recently started another business, UniPat Products, LLC. Both endeavors can be seen online at www.sayreinc.com and www.thegeargator.com.
He and his wife, Mary, have been married for 29 years and they have two children now both in college.
Scott is the Vice Chairman of the 6th Congressional District Republican Committee. He has served in numerous civic organizations and currently serves as Chairman of Economic Development for the Executive Board of Directors, Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce. He is the past Chairman, Budget Committee, Republican Party of Virginia. He is the Valley spokesperson for Americans For Prosperity.
He is also an avid reader, turkey hunter, outdoorsman and Capstone graduate of the Valley Family Forum.
